Here at the Teifi Valley Railway we use wood that has fallen in our woodlands and put it to use by creating a sustainable fuel, charcoal.

Using our kiln, we make charcoal on the site by having a few burns a year and sell it on to the public to buy in small bags that are the perfect size to put on a barbecue and light.

We do not use the left over pieces or charcoal to make briquettes so to light our charcoal all you need to do is use a piece of newspaper or light the paper bag and it will be ready to cook on in just 20 minutes.

Look back to this page as when it is updated it will have pictures of the process and details of how it is made.
