The cafe is open every day when trains are operating one hour before the first train and shuts approximately half an hour after the last train has returned. This is the place where you buy your tickets for the train as well as being the place where you can find refreshments while you visit us.
The cafe has an extensive menu with sandwiches, rolls, jacket potatoes to cooked breakfasts and burgers. The cafe tries to use only local produce where it can to support local farmers and suppliers.
There are many choices when it comes to cakes as they are all home made. There are often scones, which make the ideal cream tea and flapjacks which make for a tasty treat. We also stock locally produced waffles which go down well with tea or coffee. And on those hot summer days, what is better than being able to get an ice cream or cold drink?
The cafe can also cater for birthday parties or other events, putting on buffets for parties when they arrive. The cafe also can do bookings for groups if they just wish to come for afternoon tea, a party of 25 all wanting cream teas with scones? Not a problem, just let us know.
The cafe is now open out of season Saturday to Thursday from 8:30am to 2:30pm up to March. The cafe will also be open during the season when the railway is not operating. Check later for opening times.
